Ice T will hit the stage at Indiana’s Hilbert Circle Theatre on June 18th for the world premiere of the orchestrated version of late American poet Langston Hughes’ 12-part masterpiece, “Ask Your Mama: Twelve Moods for Jazz.”

Ice-T will narrate Hughes poetry by rhythmic tones of jazz professor Dr. Ronald McCurdy, who composed the project using musical cues that had been suggested by Hughes before he died in 1967.

The performance will be the first time the rapper/actor has performed with a live symphony orchestra.
