Alicia Keys could be retiring by time she reaches 30 years old.
Keys hinted her retirement plan in statement to the press saying, “I am working hard now so I have the choice to retire when I want.” Moreover confirming the reason for her retirement she said, “I would like to travel the world and stay in places instead of having to move on like I do now. I want to experience difference cultures.”
The singer went on a brief hiatus in 2006, where she traveled to Egypt. It was rumored the reason for the hiatus was because of pressure she felt for being famous.
Alicia Keys has contributed to the rebirth of R&B since she has hit the scene, but now it looks like she wants to make her mark on the rock genre.
The concept came about when Keys did a duet with Keith Urban at the Live Earth concert in 2007, and from there she set her mind on another collaboration with other rockers, such as Queens of the Stone Age, Linkin Park, Coldplay and The White Stripes.
The White Stripes is at the top of Alicia Keys list of rock collabos.
Stating her admiration over the band, she said “They’re very raw very cut and dry. It’s like drums and guitar. It’s that simple, and I love that.”
She has been talks with The White Stripes and believes that the collaboration could really happen.
“We’ve had some conversations. When the time works out, and it definitely will, it will happen, she said.”

Can you say mo’ money, mo’ money, mo’ money? That’s right, reportedly Alicia Keys has signed a deal with Glaceau to front a new campaign for its Vitamin Water line that is expected to net her more than $25 million.
Details of the deal are set to be announced publicly next week.
50 Cent was once fronted the health conscious products, but he eventually sold his 10% share of Glaceau, as the Coca Cola company acquired the smaller drinks operation for a whopping $4.1 billion. He netted $400 million in the deal.
According to Billboard, Alicia Keys canceled the Pittsburgh stop of the “As I Am” concert tour Tuesday, April 22 and she has to cancel a second show due to swollen vocal chords and she is currently under the care of a physician. Prior to Keys cancellation, Jordin Sparks was on tour with Alicia Keys up until April 21st after being dropped from the tour due to an acute vocal cord hemorrhage.
Alicia Keys is expected to return to the tour on April 26 at the Value City Arena at the Jerome Schottenstein.
