NBC is rolling the dice on another sitcom, starring rapper Snoop Dogg. Are you ready for Snoop?
He will star in and produce a new untitled family comedy series; where he plays a dad. Veteran comedy writer Don Reo (Everybody Hates Chris, Two and Half Men) will pen the script and be an executive producer on this project.
Snoop is no stranger to the small screen; he had a successful reality show, Snoop Dogg’s Father Hood on E! Network for two seasons. Snoop had a reoccurring role on the now defunct Fox comedy show, Brothers. He played the role of Kenny the Lawyer, the cousin of Mike and Chill (main characters).
NBC may have something here. Don Reo had success writing for Two and Half Men, which as we all know has been very successful pre-Ashton Kutcher (no offense). Snoop is a natural talent. I’m really interested to hear more details about this new series.
Besides landing a new sitcom, Snoop is also starring in a biopic, The Legend of Filmore Slim. Snoop will portray the San Francisco blues guitarist and pimp who was also known as the “West Coast Godfather of the Game”.
No release date for either project.
