Grammy nominated R&B singer Raheem DeVaughn will be honored by Washington, D.C. mayor Vincent C. Gray with a key to the city on Thursday, May 5. Also, an even better birthday gift, May 5th will be proclaimed Raheem DeVaughn Day.
DeVaughn is being recognized for his extensive charity work within his community, as well as the Preservation of Music and Arts for the Youth and his continued efforts to educate the people and rid the communities of the District of Columbia of AIDS/HIV.

A number of rappers and Alki David, owner of FilmOn have filed a lawsuit against CBS Interactive Inc. and CNET Networks, Inc. for copyright infringement on Wednesday, May 4 in District Court for the Central District of California.
The lawsuit claims CBS Interactive and CNET acted as the main distributor of LimeWire software and have promoted this and other PSP (peer-to-peer) systems to profit from wide-scale copyright infringement. The LimeWire software has been downloaded over 220 million times since 2008.
Rappers named in this suit are Detron Bendross of 2 Live Crew, Rome, Diamond Blue of Pretty Ricky, Trisco Smith form Force MD’s and Coldhard representing Crucial Conflict. According to David many more rappers are expected to join in this lawsuit.
“Many more artists are currently expected to join in this lawsuit, which we believe ultimately will become one of the most significant copyright precedents to protect artists’ rights,” Mr. David says.
The plaintiffs in this case are seeking an undisclosed amount in damages.

New York radio station Hot 97 announced, Monday, May 2 the lineup for their annual concert. Lil Wayne will headline and he will be joined by Drake Birdman, Wacka Flocka, Lloyd Banks, Wiz Khalifa, Dipset, Rick Ross, Fabolous and Chris Brown.
Hot 97 Summer Jam 2011 Presented by Boost Mobile will take place June 5th at the New Meadowlands Stadium in East Rutherford, NJ.
