Singer/Songwriter, Marsha Ambrosius debut solo album, “Late Nights and Early Mornings” lands the No, 2 spot on Billboard’s top 200 albums.
The former member of the neo-soul duo, Floetry, stepped out on faith and her record sales have done relatively well. “Late Nights & Early Mornings” was released March 1, 2011 and has since sold an estimated 96,000 units.
Ambrosius’ first single, “Hope She Cheats on You (With a Basketball Player)” (No. 22) and her current single “Far Away” (No. 28) and are both holding it down in the top 30 of Billboard’s Hot R & B/Hip Hop Songs chart.
Ambrosius definitely had the right plan in mind when she wrote and produced some of the material on this album. In a previous interview with MTV she revealed her debut album, “Late Nights & Early Mornings” would shed some light on who she really is.
“I’m ready to unleash all things Marsha Ambrosius. Many people have expected many things from me, and all I can tell you is, you can expect me to be on my album.”
I have not personally listened to the album, however many reviews across the web describe the “Late Nights & Early Mornings” as soulful and sultry, with a hint of “syrupy” ballads.
I know “syrupy” was a little over the top descriptive wise, but what’s a love song without all the sweetness. *smiles*

In this issue, J Hud will open up about her wedding plans, new found healthy lifestyle, new album and her upcoming role as Nelson Mandela’s wife, Winnie Mandela in “Winnie”.

Grammy award winning pop-diva, Christina Aguilera can’t catch a break these days if her life depended on it. The national anthem mishap and now copyright infringement.
A lawsuit has been filed in the federal court in New York, claiming Sony Music paid the wrong distributor for rights to the 1968 song “Hippy Skippy Moon Strut” by Dave Cortez and The Moon People. Aguilera sampled this song for her lead single, “Ain’t No Other Man” off of her third album, Back to Basics.
TufAmerica, purchased the rights to “Moon Strut” in 2004, but somehow when the exclusive rights were being purchased, Sony Music made a deal with Codigo Music and The Clyde Otis Music Group to sample this song.
For now, it seems like Christina Aguilera has been spared the court circus, she was not named in the lawsuit. ~TMZ~
TufAmerica is seeking an undisclosed amount in punitive damages.
