Singer/Songwriter, Marsha Ambrosius debut solo album, “Late Nights and Early Mornings” lands the No, 2 spot on Billboard’s top 200 albums.
The former member of the neo-soul duo, Floetry, stepped out on faith and her record sales have done relatively well. “Late Nights & Early Mornings” was released March 1, 2011 and has since sold an estimated 96,000 units.
Ambrosius’ first single, “Hope She Cheats on You (With a Basketball Player)” (No. 22) and her current single “Far Away” (No. 28) and are both holding it down in the top 30 of Billboard’s Hot R & B/Hip Hop Songs chart.
Ambrosius definitely had the right plan in mind when she wrote and produced some of the material on this album. In a previous interview with MTV she revealed her debut album, “Late Nights & Early Mornings” would shed some light on who she really is.
“I’m ready to unleash all things Marsha Ambrosius. Many people have expected many things from me, and all I can tell you is, you can expect me to be on my album.”
I have not personally listened to the album, however many reviews across the web describe the “Late Nights & Early Mornings” as soulful and sultry, with a hint of “syrupy” ballads.
I know “syrupy” was a little over the top descriptive wise, but what’s a love song without all the sweetness. *smiles*
