R&B singer Mary J. Blige celebrates her 40th birthday.
The “Queen of Hip Hop Soul” was born this day in 1971 and grew up in Yonkers, New York. At the ripe age of 17, she signed her first record deal.
Blige has since won 9 Grammy Awards and 4 American Music Awards; and successfully recorded 8 multi-platinum albums.

Jan22011LeToya Luckett Lands New Role in HBO’s “Treme”
Former Destiny Child member Letoya Luckett has landed a couple of new acting gigs.
She has a recurring role on HBO’s post-Hurricane Katrina drama “Treme” confirmed by a spokeswoman for Luster’s Pink Brand Smooth Touch. The series follows the daily lives of a group of people trying to rebuild their lives after the horrific hurricane that devastated New Orleans in 2005.
Luckett has also completed filming the movie, “From the Rough” which also stars Taraji P. Henson, Ving Rhames and Tom Felton. This drama is inspired by the life story of Dr. Catana Sparks who is portrayed by Henson.
Sparks was the first femal head coach of the NCAA Division l Mens Golf team at Tennessee State University. “From the Rough” is set to be release Fall 2011.

Socialite Kim Kardashian debuted her new song, “Turn It Up” produced by The Dream at Taos in Las Vegas on New Years Eve.
New pics including the one above has surfaced online, and reportedly, was transformed into the “around away girl” for her new music video produced by Hype Williams.
