I’m doing a review on, BND Presents Great Western Form mixtape which was produced by 7th Letter. The lyricist on the project, Wes Coas, pays homage to his native California while sampling the likes of Bob Marley “Caution” and N.W.A.’s “Straight Outta Compton” which made for an interesting sound.
I have to admit I was pleasantly surprised by this mixtape, it is very different from Wes previous mixtapes. BND Great Western Form, really seemed as if he found his fit that absolutely does work for him.
The opening track “Great Western Form” and “Situations”, was great, I immediately cranked it up on my laptop. As there were many other tracks caught my attention such as “Nacho Cheese”, “L.A. Life” and “L.A. Times”.
“Right Left” and “501 Jeans & Crewneck Sweater” are definitely Westside club banger.
The album was great for the exception of “My Town”, “Cash Rules” and a couple others. “Don’t Trip” and even the remix of “Cash Rules” did not spark any interest to me, truthfully I listened to them with no desire to hit repeat. But for the most part this mixtape gets a 3.5 out of 5, don’t sleep on this one.
