Lil Wayne was suppose to appear before a Manhattan judge for sentencing today (Mar 2) however, sentencing was postponed due to a fire in the courthouse basement.
David Bookstaver, a spokesman for the State Office of Court Administration revealed to the NY Times, the courthouse will be closed Wednesday and may be closed for several days. This does not mean the courthouse can not conduct business if necessary.
Bookstaver continues, “We ask the jurors and court personnel report to 111 Centre Street…and we expect to be up and running in the morning with some semblance of normalcy.”
So it seems like Lil Wayne may be in court as soon as tomorrow.
Lil Wayne was originally due to be sentenced in February (2010), but it was postponed due to dental surgery Lil Wayne had to undergo.
