Louis Gossett Jr. 74, announced earlier this week he has prostate cancer. The cancer was caught in an early stage.
Gossett decision to share his illness with the public was to set an example to African American men.
“…..to set an example for the large number of African-American men who are victims of this disease because of the comparatively low emphasis in our community on preventive examinations and early treatment.” [CNN]
Gossett is undergoing intensive treatment for his cancer.

Twenty-five years ago, Michael Jackson wrote “We Are The World” and now some time after his death and the tragic earthquake of Haiti this song has been revived with new purpose.
“We Are The World 25 For Haiti” video has new footage as well as footage from the original video. Executive producers Lionel Richie and Quincy Jones organized the 2010 collaborations.

Recently, Lil Wayne prison sentence was postponed to March 2 due to dental surgery needed for a chipped tooth. The internet was buzzing with rumors of Weezy’s grill was being removed.
Well, this rumor is definitely false, the grill stays. Wayne’s attorney, Stacey Richman confirmed this in an interview with New York Magazine.

Usher is on the hunt for a new manager after his mother/manager Jonetta Patton went their separate ways professionally in November 2009. Word has it that is because of Usher’s new girlfriend, Grace Miguel former Def Jams Executive.
This change in managment may have been cause of another delay in Usher’s upcoming album, Raymond vs Raymond.
Randy Phillips the CEO of AEG Live and former manager of Michael Jackson is rumored to be Patton’s replacement.
Usher need to hurry up release his album before people get tired of waiting. I’m just saying…..

Mary J. Blige and fashion designer, Catherine Malandrino have teamed up to design t-shirts that will inspire women. FFAWN + Malandrino t-shirt collection will be styled with an off the shoulder look with handwritten messages such as “I’m Free” and “I’m Power” on them.
Profits from the t-shirts are to benefit Mary J. Blige and Steve Stoute’s Foundation For The Advancement of Women Now (FFAWN).
Blige’s t-shirts will debut February 17 at Malandrino boutiques and Bloomingdales stores in New York, and the full line will be revealed in June at a charity fashion show.
FFAWN + Malandrino t-shirts will retail starting at $39.
