Jan172010Yummy Treats: Poparazzi’s Gourmet Popcorn
I happen to be out shopping yesterday here in Houston, when I spotted Poparazzi’s Gourmet Popcorn. I had never been there before and just wanted something to snack on and of course the name really grabbed my attention.
Well to my surprise it was definitely more than I expected.
I was greeted at the door which was a plus in my book. And there were all types of delightful treats in this store.
Including over 60 flavors of popcorn. Who knew?
I glanced at the menu and immediately knew I wanted to try, the Heath Toffee Almond. The texture of the popcorn was crunchy wrapped with chocolate, toffee and almonds. One word yum!
I purchased the “Junior” sized bag which was a very generous amount of popcorn.
I also taste the Strawberry Shortcake, Banana Pudding, Chicago and Dill Pickle. I actually liked all of these flavors and I was very surprised by how much each flavored popcorn actually taste as it was named.
So I highly recommend Poparazzi’s Gourmet Popcorn, it was awesome!

Singer/Actress Christina Milian was spotted glowing and looking divalicious at the “Boom Boom Room” baby event at the Century Plaza Hotel in Los Angeles. And might I add she looks like she’s about to pop.
Milian and new hubby, The Dream are expecting baby girl in about four weeks.

The local radio stations, 97.9 The Box and Magic 102.1 here in Houston, have been doing a tremendous job of getting donations for our brothers and sisters in Haiti. This tragedy has really brought many people together as well united people in the hip hop community.
Bun B has organized a “Houston For Haiti” benefit concert which will take place Monday (Jan 18) from 4 to 8 pm at Warehouse Live in Houston.
There confirmed performers include Slim Thug, Trae The Truth, ESG, Lil O, Candi Rdd, Just Brittany, Corey Mo and the The Party Boyz. Reportedly there will be more artists to come.
Also Tennesse Titans Vince Young will be there and many other local athletes.
The pre-sale tickets are $20 and can be purchased through warehouselive.com; and tickets at the Warehouse Live box office will be $30.
This event is to benefit the people of Haiti, so all proceeds will be donated to Haiti relief funds through care.org.
Jan162010Tiger Woods Donates $3 Milli + Lady Gaga Does Oprah + Teddy Pendergrass Dies
In the days after the horrific earthquake that hit the Carribean nation of Haiti, Tiger Woods in the mist of his own troubles, Russell Simmons tweeted on Twitter that Tiger Woods will put up $3 million for Haiti.
Simmons tweeted, “Sorry about blowing up tigers ‘anonymous gift’ sucha sweet gesture. People have cared so much about other ‘secrets’ this is inspiring?”
The Tiger Woods Foundation did confirm the donation to the relief efforts in Haiti.
In other news, did you see Lady Gaga on The Oprah Winfrey show.
She performed a medley of “Monster”, “Bad Romance” and “Speechless” on Friday, January 15.

Soul singer Teddy Pendergrass dies at the age of 59. He dies at a hospital in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania where he was born.
There were no details about his illness, however his family did reveal it was related to complicatins from a 1982 car accident that caused his paralysis.

Beyonce may be set to take a break, but she is still making business moves. She will introduce video game fans to her fashion line when items from her Dereon label which will be featured in Nintendo’s Style Savvy.
Beyonce gets a chance to promote clothing line via the game, in which players manage a virtual clothes boutique. Five items from Dereon will be available for fans to download in Style Savvy later this year.
Beyonce very confident the players will love her creations.
“Fashion is something I’ve been familiar with my whole life. (Style Savvy) can teach young girls a sense of business and of responsibility. You have to be a good listener and pay attention to what the customers want. It also teaches you about fashion, using terms that fashion people use, like ‘asymmetrical.’
“It will be fun. The clothes in the game are great, so cute and detailed, and there’s always something new. It’s like playing dress-up, only with digital technology instead of dolls.” [ContactMusic]

Rapper Beanie Sigel revealed 50 Cent used him for publicity. Are we shocked?
Beanie dropped a track late last year dissing Jay Z; shortly thereafter teaming up with 50 Cent launching a smear campaign against his former boss, Jay Z.
So it seemed Beanie’s music career was surely on its way back to life with the help of 50 Cent and G Unit. Well, that did not happen and the 15 second beef with Jay Z came and went.
Beanie revealed during an interview with The Source magazine, that 50 Cent in fact used him to ignite some interest in his latest project Before I Self Destruct. Don’t get it twisted 50 Cent may have used Beanie, but Beanie used 50 Cent too.
“If 50 Cent is using Beans to do what he’s going to do, that’s cool,” the rapper told the mag. “But at the same time, Beans is using 50 Cent to do what I need to be done. So at the end of the day, we use each other, but we don’t misuse each other.”
Even though Beanie is still on his own there isn’t any stopping him now, his upcoming project, Roc Boys is set to be released February 23.
