Photo: Getty ImagesSinger/Actress Jennifer Hudson has landed a notable role Winnie Mandela in Winnie, a movie about former South African president Nelson Mandela’s ex-wife that will begin filming May 30.
“I was compelled and moved when I read the script,” Hudson tells Variety. “Winnie Mandela is a complex and extraordinary woman, and I’m honored to be the actress ashed to portray her. This is a powerful part of history that should be told.”
Another great role for Jennifer Hudson. She’s truly talented.
Winnie Mandela took the lead against apartheid while her husband, Nelson Mandela was locked up in prison. During the time Nelson was in prison, Winnie was convicted in 1991 in connection to the murder of a 14 year government informant as well as in 2003, she was found guilty of fraud and theft of money from a funeral fund.

Trust me Ms. Good Girl Gone Bad is defending her music.
During a radio interview Rihanna said:
“I definitely thought the barbed wire was cool. It was a symbol of strength but fearlessness all at once, that’s why we used it.”
And Rihanna explains the task of wrapping her in the barbed wire:
“We took our time and wrapped that barbed wire around me. It took forever because we had to wrap it round the front of me a few times more than the rest of me so that it would cover the necessary.”
Really who cares, I’ve heard worst lyrics and definitely the cover isn’t bad at all. Hell on a good day Rih Rih’s tah tah are on display regularly via a see through blouse. So who knew this album cover would get so much negative attention.

She was classy and stylish – minus Kanye.

Nov222009Wesley Snipes Appeals Tax Evasion Conviction
Photo: AdMediaActor Wesley Snipes is appealing his three year prison sentence on federal tax evasion charges. He insists the prison sentence that was handed down onto him was “unreasonable”.

In 2008, Snipes was convicted of three misdemeanor counts of willful failure to file his income tax return.
In the appeal the actor’s attorney claims the tax evasion trial should have taken place in New York and not in Florida.
In a Georgia Court of Appeals on Friday, (Nov 20) his attorney accused prosecutrs of seeking to make an example out of the actor, insisting the sentence “focused too heavily on deterrance.”
However, prosecution seems to beg the differ. They believe Goldberger’s attempt beg, whine and plead will not change Snipes’ obvious wrongdoing.
“Wesley Snipes received a fair trial and fair sentence,” assistance U.S. attorney Patricia Barksdale said. “His numerous appeals do not make that sentence erroneous.”
Looks like Wesley Snipes is going to do that time and no amount of appeals will stop it.

“Yes, it’s true that she will be ending her show in September 2011,” as the folks at Harpo revealed to E! News.
Supposely Oprah will speak of her decision on her show today (Nov 20).
Life after monopolizing daytime small screen will not be for vacationing for Oprah. In fact she plans to focus on the launch of her cable network, OWN.The network is rumored to launch in 2011, which could explain why Oprah planned to end her talk show.

Janet Jackson isn’t wasting anytime getting back on the stage and reviving her music career. Reportedly, she secretly signed a new contract last month (Oct 2009) with A&M Records.
Jackson first signed with A&M Records when she 16 years old.
Label exec Jimmy Lovine is really pushing to have a new Janet Jackson album to hit shelves in 2010, with the help of producer Rodney Jerkins.
“Jimmy has given the mandate to make this Janet record a success. He believes that he has the right team in place to finally take Janet back to the top of the music charts. It’s a top priority for the label,” a source revealed to New York Daily News.
But in the meanwhile die hard Janet Jackson fans will have to settle for her greatest hits album. Some sources say the album has already been released.

This charitable event will take place Wednesday, November 25, 1:30 pm to 2:30 pm at the Boost Mobile Retail Store, Westhill Village, Houston, Texas.
Bun B will signing autographs and doing meet and greet with the fans.
Since this is a moment of giving all visitors who drop off five or more cans of food will receive a free ticket to Bun B’s concert taking place Wednesday night (Nov 25) at 9 pm at Hush Nightclub.
