Former Employee Sues Jermaine Dupri and Da Brat In Club Assault

Jermaine Dupri and rapper Da Brat have been slapped with a lawsuit. Shayla Stevens has filed a lawsuit in Fulton County Superior Court, claiming Da Brat assaulted her with a bottle resulting in serious injuries and permanent facial scars.
You ask how JD is tied to this? Stevens was an employee at Dupri’s Studio 72 club where the assault took place.
In the lawsuit, Stevens claims Dupri, a promoter (Joseph London) and security personnel “failed” to protect her from Da Brat during an altercation at a Halloween part October of 2007.
Da Brat is serving a three year prison sentence after pleading guilty to this assault during her 2008 court hearing. Once Da Brat completes her prison time she must also serve seven years of probation and perform 200 hours of community service.
Shayla Stevens is seeking an undisclosed amount in damages.
