Florida Man Slaps Lil Wayne and Birdman With Copyright Suit

Lil Wayne has been slapped with yet another lawsuit. Thomas Marascuillo aka “Tommy Mara” filed a lawsuit Friday (Oct. 30) in a Manhattan Federal Court alleging Lil Wayne and Birdman used his recorded “Italian-styled” spoken words for Cash Money Records in 2006 without his permission or compensation.
These “Italian-styled” spoken words were allegedly used as intros on two albums, Like Father, Like Son (2006) and 5 (Star) Stunna (2007).
According to HipHopWired, Marascuillo had no idea his voice had been used until his daughter discovered the track “Respect” while attempting to purchase a ringtone.
What really looks bad is, when Marascuillo began to demand payment from Lil Wayne and Birdman, he alleges his son who was then a recording engineer at Cash Money was fired due to Marascuillo financial issue with the pair.
Thomas Marascuillo who lives in Florida’s Hernando County is seeking unspecified damages.
