Former boxer Mike Tyson in the height of his career was known as one the best boxers alive and infamous boxer. He the title probably from the fight with Evander Holyfield where Tyson bit off Holyfield’s ear in 1997.
This incident turned the two into longtime enemies.
More than 10 years later Mike Tyson and Evander Holyfield appeared ont he the “Oprah” show, shook hands and ended their feud.
In this candid interview in which part 1 originally aired October 12 (Monday), Tyson confessed he’d never had the opportunity to properly apologize to his ring rival, admitting that his public comments after the fight were not sincere.
After seeing the interview with Oprah, Holyfield contacted the talk show host and offered to sit down with Tyson on her program. Holyfield, Tyson and Oprah discussed the horrible ear biting incident October 16 (Friday).

After shaking hands on the show for the first time in a decade, Holyfield revealed the ear biting incident was not nearly as bad as most think. “It was just shocking. It wasn’t really as bad as they’d made it out to be.”
Also to my surprise and I’m sure to Tyson’s surprise Holyfield told Oprah that he had forgiven Tyson years ago and had “moved on”. But Tyson revealed he’d never felt that forgiveness, stating, “He never says a word; the guy doesn’t talk..I feel like I’m having a face-off every time I meet the guy..I’ve said hi, but I never talked to him since 98.”

Tyson goes on to tell why he bit off Holyfield’s ear, “I have great respect for him and I wanted to beat him so bad…by beating him I really would have conquered the giant.”
Shortly after the former enemies shook hands Tyson told Evander Holyfield, “It’s been a pleasure passing through life being acquainted with you.”
And Holyfield said, “It’s important for the young people around the world to understand that you have conflicts in life…One thing I wanted with Tyson and I (getting together)..(is to) tell the kids that we can come together and we know you can come together.”
Wow this was an eye opening interview. I never knew that fight in 1997 was that serious. Tyson is obviously going through a very positive stage in his life and I applaud him for wanting to be honest about who he was and is. The only way anyone can change is acknowledge their problems.
