According to Freddyo, Nivea hosted the showcase for her management/artist development company, Avalon Music Group.

Super model Naomi Campbell recently speaks out about major companies refusing to use women of color to promote products. She alleges this action is comparable to returning to the days of the past.
“This year, we have gone back all the way that we had advanced,” she says. “I don’t see any black woman, or of any other race, in big advertising campaigns.”
Campbell even points out that the recession may even work against women of color.
“That made some noise, but, unfortunately, we are the same as before,” she says. “People, in the panic of the recession, don’t dare to put a girl of colour in their campaign, full stop. Nor of any other race. It’s a shame. It’s very sad.”
Naomi Campbell is voicing her opinion of the industry, but because she works in this industry it may hold some truth.

Foster-Raymond’s interview with Upscale will be featured in the October 2009 issue. In this interview she reveals she felt judged by bloggers mainly because she did not fit the image of what society thought Usher should marry.
“I understand where all the negativity comes from,” she told the magazine. “Unfortunately I think that some black women are — subconsciously — not in love with the image they see in the mirror. Therefore in turn they do not love someone like me. I look too much like them.”She goes on to say that she may have been better accepted if she looked more “exotic.” “I was not given a fair shot,” she explained. “People passed judgment without getting to know me. How can you get the entire concept of who I am from a blog?”

Nicki Minaj finally signs with Lil Wayne’s Young Money label. She has been down with the camp for so long I thought she was already signed. Oh well, no doubt she is now.
After the release of three mixtapes over a period two years, Nicki Minaj caught the attention of record execs. “Beam Me Up Scotty” which is her third mixtape reportedly was the noteable of the three mixtapes which included features from Lil Wayne, Gucci Mane, Busta Rhymes, Bobby Valentino and Drake.
I did not know there was a bidding war for Nicki Minaj, but anyhoo, she landed an exceptional deal with Young Money/Universal. The details of the deal are as follows, she retains and owns all of her 360 rights, including merchandising, sponsorships, endorsements, touring and publishing.
Say what you want about Nicki Minaj, chick is going to get paid!
Minaj’s debut album is expected to be released in early 2010 and will be distributed through Universal Motown.
