Oprah Winfrey and Dr Oz Sue Over False “Acai Berry” Endorsements

Oprah Winfrey and Dr. Oz are suing about 30 companies alleging that their products are being sold under false endorsements.

The suit was filed in a U.S. District Court in New York City on Wednesday (August 19). In the court documents, the two claim several companies selling dietary supplements, anti-wrinkle creams, tooth whitening and colon cleansers were false statements in Oprah and Dr. Oz’s voice to endorse the company’s brands and products.

Oprah and Dr. Oz are seeking to seize the unauthorized and unlawful use of their names, pictures, voices and identities.
