Jilly from Philly recently did an interview with Essence.com, where she discuss being a single parent and how being a mother has definitely changed her life. She seems to be more spiritual and grouped after the birth of her son. I just hope she gets back in the studio and bless us with more of her melodies.
ESSENCE.COM: Congrats on the possibility of an Emmy nod for Best TV Drama Actress! If you win you will be the first African-American woman to do so. Did you expect such acclaim or pressure?
JILL SCOTT: No pressure, but I’m excited. It’s definitely something I dreamt about, and if it comes to fruition then that’s wonderful. In regards to expecting the acclaim, I wish I was that forward thinking. We were just there doing a good job, and after the show was done we thought, Well, maybe. I am proud of the work that we did.
ESSENCE.COM: Does this Hollywood success mean your music fans won’t hear your angelic voice anytime soon?
SCOTT: As much as I take a break, music never gives up on me. I have to write, sing, listen to my iPod, and that inspires me to create. It’s a part of me that I don’t ever want to go away, no matter what else I do, so I’d say that you can expect a new CD possibly this year, I hope.
ESSENCE.COM: Congrats to you on your new bundle of joy, Jett Hamilton. How has motherhood been treating you?
SCOTT: Wonderful. I named him after a black gemstone that my makeup artist in Africa had; it was simply called Jet, and I fell in love with it and the name because I thought my beautiful baby is a gem. I truly loved being pregnant and feeling what was going on inside my body and watching it change. It’s difficult to recoup but still amazing nonetheless. I would have another one.

Word is Bow Wow, has been granted his wish, he has been dropped from Columbia Records. Be careful for what you ask for because you might just get it.
Bow Weezy had been really going off on Twitter a couple weeks or so ago, asking to be dropped from Columbia.

On the other hand, I don’t know what the reason could be for Jim Jones being dropped. Word is, Jim’s record sales have not been great. He started the year off with terrible sales.
“Byrd Gang leader Jim Jones’ Pray IV Reign stormed onto the charts at No. 9. The rapper’s fourth solo project scanned 43,000 discs after its first week in retail stores.” (Sales Wrap/SOHH)
Most recently, he credited Twitter for his increase in record sales. I guess this was day late and a dollar short.
According to TheYBF.com;
"Our A&R source at Columbia Records tells TheYBF.com that rappers Bow Wow and Jim Jones have just been dropped from the label. We called the Columbia offices to get an official statement, but it was after hours. Columbia has, though, removed both artists from their website."

I stumbled across this rumor once again. He seems to be old news, but it has resurfaced once again. Word is Jay Z is the father of a seven year old little boy.
Apparently back in 2001 before Beyonce came along, Jay Z dated a Trinidian model, Shanelle Scott, 28. During their courtship, a baby boy was conceived and supposedly Jay has been trying very hard to put great distrance between him and this woman and child.
According to Nowmagazine, Jay has privately admitted to a paternity test and the test proves positive that the child is his. The magazine further alleges Beyonce is accepting of the child.
After the paternity test proved that he was in deed the father, Jay purchased Scott and her son a $2.5 million home in Trinidad.
There has not been any confirmation as to the validity of this rumor nor, has Jay Z released any statements.

Chris Brown dodged a big bullet, when Rihanna did not have to testify. Word is he took the deal to avoid Rihanna testifying.
Upon Brown and his entourage leaving the court, Rihanna entered the court where the judge gave her a copy of the “stay-away” order. Reportedly, she left the court through a side door and made no statement.
