Lil Wayne is facing another copyright infringement lawsuit. Reportedly, he is being accused of lifting the Karma-Ann Swanepoel song “Once” for his 2007 mixtape hit “Feel Like Dying”
The suit was filed last May infederal court in New Orleans, alleging Cash Money Records entered into negotiations but did not ultimately secure a license to sample the South African artist before “Dying”was released online. Now the Swanepoel lawyers are demanding the rapper to forward the documents to them, that would reveal the income generated by his track. On Tuesday, (December 18) Wayne’s lawyer filed a motion requesting the deadline to be postponed.
This is the second case of alleged copyright infringement, publisher Abkco Music sued Lil Wayne in federal court in July, for allegedly lifting the Rolling Stones’ “Play With Fire” on a track from Tha Carter III.
