No Perks For Solange Knowles

Solange Knowles the younger sister of one of the hottest female artists in the game had a hard time catching a break. She had a difficult time getting her songs heard by top music producers, it was not because she lack the talent, it was because she was the sibling of Beyonce Knowles.

According to Starpulse.com, Knowles admits that having a superstar in the family did not help her, it hindered her. She struggled to convince people in the industry that she had talent.

She also stated to Britain’s Hello magazine;

"I can see how people would think that I'm here because of Beyonce. But with this record, that really wasn't in my head. I started this record completely independently - I had no record label, I had no main producer, and everyone turned me down. Probably because of that, like, 'We're not going to reward her because she's Beyonce's sister,' and I understood that."

Come on now, I know it has to be some kind of perks having Beyonce as your sister.
