After seeing these headlines this morning, I am sure Oprah is screaming, “Oh no she didn’t”. Well Vernita Lee, Oprah Winfrey’s mother says she shouldn’t have to pay a nearly $156,000 debt to apparel store because the store shouldn’t have extended credit to her.
I wish I could use that excuse when I decide I am not going to pay my bills.
But anyway, Valentina Inc. claims Lee of Milwalkee fell behind on the outstanding balance of $155,547 in which she was to pay a reported minimum of $2000.
Get this, then Lee filed a counterclaim Friday contending that Valentina took advantage of her “lack of knowledge, ability, and or capacity” when creating her credit account. To make matters worst, this same company had the same credit problem with Lee back in 2002, over an outstanding balance of $175,000 and the deal was, not to extend any more credit to Lee.
Seems like to me Vernita Lee know the system better than the store does, because they were the ones silly enough to let her continue using credit there.
Queen Latifah, Jennifer Hudson and Alicia Keys will grace the cover of the November 2008 edition of the Ebony magazine.

Bow Wow appeared on CNN to discuss his mission to get young people to the polls to vote. Honestly, Bow Wow was very informative about the economy and the importance of the people of his generation to vote. This is a beautiful thing!
Hopefully his voice will make a difference.
This is one of my all time favorite songs and videos. I really loved the old “Lil Kim”. Can we get the old “Kim” back?
I can not remember anything significant that was going on when this song was out, but I do know I I still love this song to this day. Check it out.
