Nas Inks Deal With Fila
Nas has inked a one year deal with athletic apparel company Fila, according to Billboard.
Fila will support print and TV ad campaign as well as his untitled album, due out July 15 via Def Jam. In return for Fila’s support Nas will wear there products and co-create an apparel line that draws from fashions of the late 80′s.
“My best friend Will and I loved Fila,” Nas tells Billboard. “It represented prestige and everything that was cool to us. When Will passed, we buried him in a black Fila sweat suit, so doing a deal with them has a lot of significance for me.”
According to Fila president John Epstein, it was a natural match, “One of my executives spotted Nas shopping in our Manhattan store and struck a conversation with him,” Epstein says. “Nas isn’t interested in selling out. He’s interested in being true, and that fits with our brand.
I kind of want to see what kind of designs Nas come up with, I am sure they will be hot.

Alicia Keys could be retiring by time she reaches 30 years old.
Keys hinted her retirement plan in statement to the press saying, “I am working hard now so I have the choice to retire when I want.” Moreover confirming the reason for her retirement she said, “I would like to travel the world and stay in places instead of having to move on like I do now. I want to experience difference cultures.”
The singer went on a brief hiatus in 2006, where she traveled to Egypt. It was rumored the reason for the hiatus was because of pressure she felt for being famous.

Beautiful Erykah Badu will be featured in campaign ads for Tom Ford’s new fragrance, “White Patchouli”.
Badu will appear in a series of print ads throughout the Summer/Fall including September issue of US magazines.
I sure we can expect to many more beautiful ads from Ms. Badu.

Joy Bryant marries stuntman, David Pope during a beachside ceremony at a private residence in Amagansett, New York on Saturday, confirmed by People.
Bryant, 31 wore a custom dress designed by her friend Angela Missoni at the ceremony, which was attended by about 100 guests and the groom, Pope, 37, wore a simple grey Calvin Klein Collection suit suitable for the beachside nuptials.
Apparently, the couple may have wanted to keep planning simple as well, because some guests received e-mail invitations to the ceremony with a simple request: “Ladies, leave your Manolos at home.”
Bryant and Pope first met on the set of the film Welcome Home, Roscoe Jenkins.

Jun292008DMX Arrested For The ? Time
DMX was arrested in Miami for the second time this week, after attempting to buy $45 in cocaine and marijuana from an undercover police officer on Friday, June 26. He is still in custody at the Miami-Dade County jail.
According to the authorities, DMX approached an undercover officer, requesting to purchase “30 powder and 15 weed.”
After the exchange, DMX was arrested. His arrest was apart of an ongoing undercover sting.

Rick Ross denies the rumors of getting married any time soon.
The two rappers appeared on the cover of the printed publication Hip Hop Weekly, which broke the news that Rick Ross and Foxy Brown engaged. In the article, supposedly Foxy moved to Miami to be with Rick Ross.
According to MTV, Ross shot down the rumors of marriage. However, he did not deny if the pair are a couple though.
“Nah, nah, nah,” he told MTV, “The engagement is just speculation. I’m married to the money.”
